We had lots and lots of applications for people wanting to be involved in International Community Media Day but unfortunately we did not need all of you. If you haven’t been chosen then you can sit back with your feet up, relax and enjoy the day anyway.
I’d like to welcome those who were chosen, and write a little bit about them and what they are going to be doing.
I’m Claire. I am a twenty year old Media student at Glasgow Caledonian University and enjoying every minute of it. I have a passion for film, music & radio. I ambitiously aspire to one day be a radio presenter at BBC Radio One, and to have the incredible opportunity to be in the same workplace as presenters currently at the station such as Greg James, Scott Mills & Fearne Cotton.
Hello everyone my name is Robert and I am second year media and communication student at Glasgow Caledonian University. I have a huge passion for photography and the visual arts and I want to use my skills to help improve the image of youths in our society and hopefully to create a career for myself in the world of media.
I’m a friendly, outgoing student from Helensburgh, and I am currently studying Media and Communication at City of Glasgow College. I’m interested in working in the Media and in PR and hope to continue these interests onto University.

I can’t wait to be a part of International Community Media Day 2013 because it is a special occasion where people from all over the globe participate in an event. I am looking forward to the day itself and seeing the events in the other countries that are participating in the event.
My name is Hayley Blackwood and I am a third year media student at Glasgow Caledonian University. The media is such a thriving and every developing industry which makes it exciting to studying. I am privileged to be taking part in the International Community media day 2013 as I believe I will gain great experience and be able to showcase the wealth of creative industries we have in Scotland.
My name is Gemma Clark and I am studying Multimedia Journalism at Glasgow Caledonian University. I have experience in freelance work for several student and online magazines as well as a local daily paper. Generally I just want to investigate and let people know the truth. If there is a story to be heard, I’ll listen. I’ll write it and tell the world given the chance because people deserve to know as much as possible about everything possible.
